Actor and producer Alessandro Nivola has been nominated for a Tony Award, an Independent Spirit Award, and a Critic’s Choice Award, and has won a Screen Actors Guild Award, a British Independent Film Award (BIFA), and the Best Actor Award at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival among others.

Emily Mortimer is an actor, director, screenwriter and producer. She most recently wrote and directed an adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s novel THE PURSUIT OF LOVE for the BBC and Amazon. Mortimer’s currently co-writing a script with Noah Baumbach, is set to direct her first feature film for A24 and is performing in the film PADDINGTON IN PERU.

Mortimer’s break-out performance came in Nicole Holofcener’s critically acclaimed, LOVELY AND AMAZING which won her an Independent Spirit Award. She has been nominated by the London Film Critics Circle for her performance in YOUNG ADAM, the Goya awards for her role in THE BOOKSHOP, and the Baftas for THE PURSUIT OF LOVE. 

Mortimer’s television credits include two seasons of HBO’s DOLL & EM, co-written by and co-starring her friend Dolly Wells. She starred opposite Jeff Daniels in THE NEWSROOM and had a recurring role on 30 ROCK. She’ll next appear in THE NEW LOOK for Apple opposite Juliette Binoche. 

As a film actor she has worked with some of the greats, including Martin Scorsese (SHUTTER ISLAND, HUGO), Woody Allen (MATCH POINT) and Rob Marshall (MARY POPPINS RETURNS) among many others.

Alessandro Nivola, co-founder

Alessandro Nivola is an award winning actor and producer.  On Broadway he received Tony and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for his performance opposite Bradley Cooper in THE ELEPHANT MAN and a Drama Desk Award nomination for A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY opposite Helen Mirren. For Sebastian Lelio’s film DISOBEDIENCE opposite Rachel Weisz, he won the 2018 British Independent Film Award (BIFA) and was nominated for a London Critics Circle Award, and a UK National Film Award. He was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Lisa Cholodenko’s LAUREL CANYON and won a SAG Award and a Critics Choice Award for David O Russell’s AMERICAN HUSTLE.  He won the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival Best Actor Award and the Achievement in Acting Award at the 2009 Provincetown International Film Festival. 

Nivola was most recently seen as Dickie Moltisanti, the lead role in the Warner Bros. SOPRANOS prequel feature THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK and in David O Russell’s film AMSTERDAM with Christian Bale and Margot Robbie. He will next be seen starring opposite Keira Knightley in Matt Ruskin’s feature BOSTON STRANGLER, opposite Russell Crowe, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Ariana DeBose in JC Chandor’s Marvel feature KRAVEN THE HUNTER, and opposite Adrien Brody in Brady Corbet’s film THE BRUTALIST. He also co-stars with André Holland in the Apple+ limited series THE BIG CIGAR, directed by Don Cheadle and set to air fall 2023.

Lizzie Nastro, Head of Development

Lizzie Nastro spent nine years at IFC Films as Director of Acquisitions before becoming an independent producer and heading development at King Bee. Her producing credits include SKATE KITCHEN, a feature film written and directed by Crystal Moselle which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Magnolia Pictures. She was a producer on the HBO TV series BETTY. Additionally, she produced three short films with writer/director Chloë Sevigny, which had premieres at Cannes and Venice. Previously, she produced I AM A TOWN, a documentary feature directed by Mischa Richter, which premiered at MoMA Doc Fortnight, the short documentary, BRIAN ANDERSON ON BEING A GAY PRO SKATEBOARDER for Vice and THE WANNABE, a film directed by Nick Sandow starring Patricia Arquette and Vincent Piazza.

Some of the films she acquired while at IFC include Lena Dunham’s TINY FURNITURE, MEDICINE FOR MELONCHOLY directed by Barry Jenkins, and THE PLEASURE OF BEING ROBBED by the Safdie Brothers. She was a 2017 Sundance producing summit fellow.
